Lauren O'Brien, Founder; Executive Director
After spending 6 years in business development and sales in the insurance industry, Lauren O'Brien founded Embraced. Lauren attributes her entrepreneurial spirit and focus for providing a social impact to her early business experiences. Lauren's business experience includes, but is not limited to founding and operating a street-vending company and two insurance agencies. Lauren's business development and sales experience have advanced the mission of Embraced. Additionally, Lauren's experience in healthcare in which she completed two orthopedic internships have allowed her gain valuable experience in orthopedic medicine.
Lauren is passionate about improving healthcare locally and globally. She obtained her undergraduate degree from College of Charleston in International Business, Spanish and Pre-Medicine. Today, Lauren is proud to be able to combine two interests: orthopedic medicine and public health to deliver medical equipment to vulnerable populations.
